It is with a profound sense of personal loss that I inform the Tang Soo Do community of the passing of Grandmaster Andy Ah Po yesterday, November 23, 2023.

Grandmaster Ah Po was one of the most senior Tang Soo Do practitioners in the world and my direct Instructor for the last 15 years. He was a truly gifted and dedicated martial artist with over 75 years experience. He was a superb Instructor not only in the art of Tang Soo Do but also in the art of efficient movement and use of internal energy.

Fiercely loyal to the late Great Grandmaster Hwang Kee of whom he was a direct student, his teaching methodology was always to honor his Instructor's teachings and pass along the art the way the late Great Grandmaster intended.

Above all, Grandmaster Ah Po had a strong faith, and the love and devotion to his family was second to none.

I am honored to have been his student and to have come to know him as a mentor and friend. Rest in Peace Kwan Jang Nim. You will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
