On Saturday the 31st of October, Do Jang
Chon Kyong and Master John B.Correljé celebrated their 35th anniversary
and 74 year old Kyo Sa Jan Correljé his 30th in Sport hall De Meent in
Schoonhoven, in the Netherlands with a tournament.
125 competitors came from all four-wind
directions in the Netherlands and even a team headed by Master Laura
Drayton from Master Fisher's ATMA came over from England to compete in
the tournament.
At 9:30 a.m. the tournament was opened by
Alderman Jan Beugelaar from the Townhall of Schoonhoven with a speech
and a board break. He also handed over a certificate from the All Tang
Soo Do Organization to celebrate 35th Anniversary.
There where four competitions, Hyung,
Weapon Hyung, Guhn Nun Dae Ryun and Kyok Pa. The tournament started with
the youth and ended with the Black Belts.
Though it was a small tournament, the
level of different students was quiet high, which judging very
difficult. Some had to perform their Hyung’s several times before a
winner could be chosen.
It was a beautiful day and everything
went as planned. Everyone enjoyed themselves and new friendships where
made.
