Master Corral's
first contact with the martial arts came as a
result of his father, who enrolled him in
Shotokan Karate when he was 4 or 5 years old. He
continued study until 8 years old when his
father died. Several martial disciplines
followed such as Wu Shu, Tai Mantis, full
contact, etc., but none managed to motivate him
until he found Tang Soo Do in 1987 and began his
career as a martial artist.
At that time he trained in the Union of Railroad
Workers in Chihuahua, Chihuahua. His was the
first student of his first instructor, Carlos
Gonzalez Romero. In 1989 Master Corral also
became the first student to have his own Tang
Soo Do Club in the city of Chihuahua where he
started his career as an instructor. He stated
that "at first, it was not easy (and never has
been), but the satisfaction of training
different students and see their progress
encouraged him to continue".
In 1990, he
met for the first time, Grand Master Jae Chul
Shin, President and Founder of the World Tang
Soo Do Association, and received his Cho Dan
from him in 1993. In
1995 he co-founded the Kyo Tang Soo Do Institute
with Master Carlos Gonzalez in the city of
Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico and received his 3rd
Dan from the Mexican Association of Tang Soo Do
in 1999. This rank was later accepted by the
Pan-Am Tang Soo Do Federation through Grand
Master Chong Su Kim (PIN. # 031 990).
Together with Professor Dr. Victor Manuel Urias
Flying, he began a new facet in Tang Soo Do in
Mexico in 2002 by restructuring the Shim Jin
Kwan Tang Soo Do Mexico.
In
January 2008, after being evaluated for four
consecutive days at the Pan-Am Tang Soo Do
Federation headquarters in Pennsylvania, he was
awarded 4th Dan (PIN. # 031 970) by Grand Master
Chong Su Kim and was also appointed the official
representative in Mexico. In 2009 he organized
Grand Master Kim's first visit to Mexico and is
endorsed as his National Federation
representative.
Through the years Master Corral has also
attended clinics and seminars given by
Grand Master Jae Chul Shim, Grand Master HC
Hwang,
Grand Master Chong Su Kim and
Master Larry Dercole.
