Master Smith began his
martial arts studies with Tae Kwon Do and Modern
Arnis, eventually moving on to American Tang Soo Do
and subsequently JuJitsu and NinJitsu. He has served
as Chief Instructor for International Champion
Harold Gross and currently serves as Chief
Instructor for the American Tang Soo Do Alliance for
the State of Nevada under Grand Master Dennis
Ichikawa.
Master Smith is owner
and Chief Instructor of Body Mind & Spirit Academy
of Martial Arts in Reno, Nevada teaching Close
Quarters Combat and Personal Self-Protection and he
is an appointed official of the United States Sport
JuJitsu Team (WCJJO). Master Smith
also heads the American Tang Soo Do program for
Champion Martial Arts Academies and the NinJitsu
program for Martial Arts on The Move, Inc.. He is
educated in the healing practices of Japanese First
Aid and Chinese Accupressure. Master Smith is also
the creator of the PGR Self-Protection System™.
He has a Master rank
in American Tang Soo Do under Grand Master Dennis
Ichikawa and is ranked 4th Degree Black Belt in
NinJitsu under Professor L.L. Cary with numerous
competition wins for Grand Champion, 1st, 2nd, and
3rd in the categories of fighting, forms, and
weapons.
Master Smith is a regionally recognized tournament
Official and Referee and has affiliations with the
American Tang Soo Do Alliance (ATSDA), USA JuJitsu &
Martial Arts Federation, American Teachers
Association of the Martial Arts (ATAMA), Northern
Nevada Alliance of Martial Artists (NNAMA) and the
World Council of JuJitsu Organizations (WCJJO).
Master Smith has had
training, classes or seminars with such notables as
Grandmaster Dennis Ichikawa, Professor Remy Presas,
Grandmaster Dick Douglas, Bruce Juchnik Hanshi,
Grandmaster Stanford McNeil Master, Master Jeff Collins,
Grandmaster John Natividad, Grandmaster Jeff Smith, International Champion
